FULTON COUNTY, Ga. – Fulton County police say a man was shot and killed on Wednesday morning as he lead worship services inside World Changers International Church. The shooting suspect, who has been identified as former church employee Floyd Palmer, remains on the loose.
Cpl. Kay Lester says Palmer, 52, may have left the scene in a black Subaru station wagon with black tinted windows and dark black tires. The vehicle may be a 2000-2003 model. Anyone who should come in contact with him is asked not to approach him, and instead to call police immediately.
Cpl. Lester said the shooting victim was a 39-year-old church volunteer who has not been identified. He was leading church services when he was shot. Lester said investigators do not know yet if the victim was targeted.
During a press conference, Cpl. Lester said Palmer resigned from his position at the church earlier this year. She said Palmer walked into the church's chapel around 10:30 a.m. and opened fire, and then calmly left. No one else was hurt.
