3 Churches Robbed in One Day

| June 8, 2010

THE COLONY, Texas – Three churches in The Colony were robbed of cash and other items during the early morning hours on Tuesday, police said.

Two of the churches — Christ Community Church and First United Methodist Church, are located on Paige Road, while the third, Holy Cross Catholic Church, is on Morningstar.

Investigators said they found forced entry and offices ransacked at each location.

Money collected from congregations on Sunday was taken from two of the offices while electronics were stolen from the other church.

Police said they have no suspects and that there were no witnesses to the crimes, but did say they collected some evidence.

According to police, each of the churches helps manage the local food pantry and that most of the stolen money was to be used for that purpose.

Detectives ask anyone with information to call The Colony Police Department.
