4 men stabbed exiting church crab feast in Lanham

| August 2, 2010

Four men were stabbed while exiting a catered church event on Sunday evening at the La Fontaine Bleue in Lanham.

Prince George's County police are investigating the incident but offered few details Monday except that three of the men are in stable condition and the fourth is in critical condition.

The catering facility owner, Tom Stuehler, said the four men were attacked at 6:20 p.m. while leaving a crab feast organized by a local Catholic church. The event, which catered to 500 people, ended at 6 p.m. and the patrons were in the parking lot when attacked. Stuehler said two cars with Virginia license plates pulled into the parking lot and the passengers got out to attack specific patrons. The men attacked were all in their 30s and taken to a local hospital for treatment, said Mark Brady, spokesman for Prince George's County Fire/EMS Department.

Stuehler described the group who had rented the banquet hall as "a very fine group of people" who he has catered to for 18 years.
