Albany man charged in blaze at church

GRANTVILLE, Pa. — An Albany man was arrested Monday on charges he set fire to a Pennsylvania church over the weekend before crashing his car into another local church and fleeing the scene, police said.

Pennsylvania State Police charged Evan Donnely, 25, of 144 S. Hawk Ave. with arson, burglary and vandalism after police said Donnely set fire inside the Shells Church in Grantville, Pa., Saturday, charring the church's interior and blowing out its windows.

Trooper Tom Pinkerton said Donnely was arrested after a truck driver reported an incident with a man later identified as Donnely at a truck stop parking lot.

The truck driver told police he beeped at Donnely as he was "doing doughnuts" in the parking lot as golf clubs fell out of the vehicle.
