| March 10, 2012

MINNEAPOLIS – The Archdiocese of Minneapolis and St. Paul is accusing a former employee of fraud after a financial review led them to believe they'd been ripped off by someone on the inside.

The theft of funds allegedly goes back several years, and multiple sources told FOX 9 News the man at the center of the financial fraud knew every detail of the church's financial life.

Until recently, 51-year-old Scott Domeier was the director of accounting for the Archdiocese. In that capacity, he literally had access to all the money across all the account numbers. Two months ago, he was put on leave, and then he was terminated last months.

Sources tell FOX 9 the fraud is consididerable, with a dollar amount stretching well into six figures.
