Authorities search Jose Feliciano’s South Side Easton home, field across street

New Jersey authorities spent about three hours this morning searching the home of an Easton man accused of killing a Chatham, N.J. priest.

Shortly before noon, authorities emerged from Jose Feliciano's Ann Street home with a desktop computer, clothing and a clothes hamper. They also took the family's beagle to the Center for Animal Health and Welfare in Williams Township.

Eight police officers — two from Easton and six from New Jersey — then moved on to searching a softball field across from Feliciano's house. They will not say what they are looking for and referred all questions to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office.

Feliciano, 64, a janitor at the Rev. Edward Hinds' church, was arrested Saturday. Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli said this morning that Feliciano was arrested in New Jersey. He said he believes Feliciano's wife drove Feliciano to a New Jersey hospital for treatment after he discovered the body Friday morning.
