BROCKTON — A 19-year-old city man was jailed without bail following his arraignment Monday in Brockton District Court on a charge that he fired the shots that killed a 51-year-old city woman walking outside a church.

Frank J. Webb, 19, is charged with murder in the fatal shooting of Jennifer Teixeira, of Brockton.
“I’m speechless. My mother did not deserve this at all,” Melissa Teixeira, 28, the daughter of the victim, said after Webb’s arraignment. “My mother’s my best friend and I have nobody. I hope justice is served for my mother.”

Webb’s lawyer, James Murphy of Brockton, said Webb has lived in the city for seven years with his parents, three younger brothers and younger sister. He said Webb sells home cutlery for Vector Marketing Corp.
