They just won't leave the church alone.

Turkey Branch Baptist Church has been the victim of burglaries and other crimes in the past.

Last month, fire burned the roof.

Just as renovations are beginning, the Neeses church became a victim again with someone breaking in and stealing a $400 freezer.

Deacon Bobby Jamison, who lives down Silversprings Road from the church, discovered the theft.

He said the lock was broken.

It's not the first time the church has been burglarized. Members say it's happened several times in the past, with air conditioners being stolen. And it's also been used as a dumping site for old shingles.

Last month, firefighters were called out to the single-story block church. They discovered flames coming from the roof where the sanctuary meets the fellowship hall.
