An investigation into allegations of embezzlement by church employees at Calvary Baptist Church prompted the arrest of music teacher Jared Burkholder, it was reported today.
A Temecula police officer was called to the church just after 9 p.m on Feb. 12 to investigate claims by church officials that Burkholder had been stealing cash from the safe for over a year, according to a report on the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department website.
According to the report, Burkholder was seen on a surveillance system taking an unknown amount of currency from the safe at around 8 p.m. on Sunday.
