Members of Stanley Church of God felt angry and violated when thieves broke in and stole equipment and stopped to eat the children’s cookies before making off with thousands of dollars in equipment.
The crime comes shortly before the beginning of Holy Week and the upcoming celebration of Easter.
Despite their hurt and frustration, the congregation prayed for the criminals.
“We grabbed the chairs and had church in the parking lot while they were finger printing. We prayed for the people who did it because obviously they need God,” said Wade Foster, pastor of the church.
