KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) — Knox County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Randall T. Hollifield at his home last night. A seized computer had more than 3-thousand sexually explicit pictures involving children. And bond has been set at $125,000.

According to the Knox County Sheriff’s Department, the rapes occurred inside Hollifield’s home in Powell.

"I’ve known him for probably going on 30 some years now. He grew up in the church and so did I and his family was here when the church began."

Randy Hollifield was a Youth Volunteer here at New Beverly Baptist Church, running its audio and video equipment on occasion, and according to the church’s pastor, he did not see this coming."

"Looking at what has happened the only thing I can say is I’m still stunned and shocked about it," said Pastor Eddie Sawyer.

Even though the alleged rapes didn’t happen on church property, Sawyer says the connection is hitting too close to home.

"I do know that I have had a name or two that’s been thrown out to me that has come to the church. Here to the youth program."

Eddie Sawyer is a tolerant and forgiving man.

"I’ve been assured by the Sheriff’s Department that they have proof."

But according to him, the allegations are almost beyond forgiveness.

"If it be so, then justice needs to take its course and we in no way here at New Beverly at all what so ever back him in any way in this type of activity."
