Easter parishioners find graffiti on their churches

| April 26, 2011

RCMP and Charlottetown police are investigating incidents of vandalism to three churches and one rink, most in the Stratford area.

The rash of graffiti was found on the morning of Easter Sunday.

"First of course it was the disappointment really … Why would you bother to do something like that? To me, it seemed a little childish," said Pastor Chad Vandervalk, whose Christian Reformed Church was one of the targets.

Vandervalk considers the messages atheist. He said rather than defacing the church, he would have preferred a healthy debate about religion.
