Edmond pastor offers guitar thief redemption

| January 19, 2012

EDMOND — An Edmond pastor said his church would be glad to assist the person who reportedly took two guitars used during worship.

An acoustic bass guitar and a four-string electric guitar worth about $1,000 total were taken from the First Christian Church, 201 E. Second St., according to a report filed by Edmond Police Officer Tim Owen.

Pastor Chris Shorow said the guitars, which belonged to a member of the church’s praise band, were seen in a storage area Saturday morning, but they were gone Sunday morning.

The building has security cameras, primarily due to its child care center, Shorow said. The guitars were kept in an area located near the sanctuary where there were no cameras, he said. Now leadership is rethinking security.
