ESCONDIDO: Thieves hit church three times in 10 days, minister says

| September 15, 2011

Minister Shane Sullivan is having a hard time saying the Forgiveness Prayer of late.

For the third time in 10 days, Sullivan said, thieves broke into the Oak Hill Drive Church of Christ on Tuesday night, this time taking computers, an amplifier, microphones, a projector, guitars and a television from the south central Escondido church.

Some of the equipment had recently been purchased to replace items stolen on Sept. 2 and 3, the dates of the first two break-ins, the minister said.

"This time they did the most damage … We just feel like it's not a safe area," an agitated Sullivan said, describing one door that was taken off its hinges and had yet to be fixed early Wednesday afternoon.
