Fair Lawn – Local synagogues are on the alert after the Fair Lawn Jewish Center on Norma Avenue received an anti-Semitic letter on Jan. 20.

Fair Lawn Police Capt. Joseph Cook told local rabbis in an email on Jan. 20 that the synagogue received a "suspicious letter" containing "images of various magazine covers depicting major financial figures with negative themes and an inserted computer caption."

The letter, which had a return address from New York City, was also received by several other synagogues in Bergen County, Cook said in the email.
