Family Kidnapped From East Texas Church

Titus County (KETK) — UPDATE: Mount Pleasant Police say at around 1 p.m. Sunday, a mother and her two children were kidnapped from Saint Michaels Catholic Church, 1403 E. First St. in Mount Pleasant, Texas.

Police say the three were taken by knife point by a known suspect from the parking lot of the church.

Police say they were then driven to a county residence where the mother and one child were released.

Ruby Zavala, 14, is still missing.

The suspect, Jesus Ramirez, is said to be armed, dangerous and mentally ill.

Police say "he is known to have an obsession with the victim."
