FBI joins investigation into church vandalism

| January 22, 2012

KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT)- It's still unclear if a recent rash of attacks on churches in West Knox County are something more than vandalism. But clean-up of the unwanted messes continues.

The FBI confirms it's looking into the cases. Investigators tell us a total of four buildings- three churches and an abandoned church have had their windows smashed.

Concord Original Church of God spent part of today boarding up after more windows were damaged overnight Thursday into Friday.
A deacon tells us vandals have previously hit the church three other times since December.

Deacon Hughie Moulden of Original Church of God says, "We are terribly upset about it that it's happened again."

Moulden goes on to say, "We don't feel helpless cause we have God on our side. But we do hope the FBI can catch the suspects."

Concord Presbyterian Church is dealing with four windows that were damaged sometime this week.
