FBI: Man held in Ohio over California synagogue bombing

| April 12, 2011

Los Angeles (CNN) — A man wanted for questioning in last week's synagogue bombing in southern California has been arrested in Ohio, an FBI spokeswoman said confirmed Tuesday.

An anonymous caller tipped authorities that Ron Hirsch was in Ohio, spokeswoman Laura Eimiller. Hirsch was taken into custody Monday night in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland, according to the FBI.

Hirsch, 60, was wanted in the explosion Thursday at a Jewish house of worship in Santa Monica, California. No one was injured.

Hirsch bought a ticket on a New York-bound bus the day of the explosion, but got off in Denver, the FBI said Monday. It wasn't immediately clear how he made his way to Ohio.
