FLINT, MI — A witness inside a Flint church said shots rang out just as the funeral service for the city's 66th homicide of victim of 2012 was getting underway.
"Everybody got on the floor," said Darrin Laury. "Everybody was getting under the pews."
Laury, 43, of Flint was inside Full Gospel Christian Church at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, for the funeral for Gerrell Tyler when one person at the church was shot in the head.
Police at the scene confirmed the shooting but had no other details. Police Chief Alvern Lock said he had just arrived on scene and did not have any information to release.
