Flint man charged in connection with alleged sexual assault at downtown church

FLINT, MI — A 48-year-old Flint man has been charged in connection with the alleged rape of a woman last week at a downtown Flint church.

Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton announced today that Albert Eugene Haymer is charged with one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct.

The first-degree charge carries a sentence of up to life in prison, while the second-degree charge is a 15-year felony.

Genesee County Sheriff Robert Pickell said Haymer is charged with raping one woman and trying to rape another March 27 at First Presbyterian Church of Flint, located on the corner of Third and Saginaw streets.
