A former Victory Christian Center janitor pleaded guilty Friday to a child-sex crime.
Israel Shalom Castillo, 23, had no plea agreement in place with prosecutors and had been scheduled to go on trial next week.
He was charged in September 2012 with making a lewd or indecent proposal over Facebook to a 14-year-old girl he had met through the Tulsa megachurch, according to court records.
Tulsa County District Judge William Kellough scheduled his sentencing for Oct. 8, and Castillo, who had been free on bond, was taken into custody.
Assistant District Attorney Sarah McAmis said prosecutors will recommend time in custody for Castillo. He will also be required to register as a sex offender.
The charge is an 85 percent crime, meaning Castillo must serve 85 percent of his sentence before he is eligible for parole.
McAmis said she was glad the victim will not have to testify at a jury trial.
