Fourth church fire reported in Tucson area

| May 11, 2010

CATALINA (KOLD) – Firefighters are investigating the fourth church fire in recent weeks in the Tucson area.

The latest one happed Monday night at the Catalina Lutheran Church, located at Hauser and Twin Lakes. Crews were able to quickly knock the fire down with no major damage to the structure.

Investigators call the fire suspicious.

Last month, another fire broke out at Northwest Friends community church along La Canada. So far, it's the one with the most damage. Fire burnt into the ceiling, and members of the congregation won't be able to use the building for at least a couple months.

Earlier in April, fire broke out at the front door of Foothills Baptist Church. And just a few blocks away, flames singed the front of Alliance Bible Church.
