Georgetown teen stabbed after basketball game at church

A Georgetown High School basketball player is recovering after being stabbed at a Georgetown church.

17-year-old Marquise Bessellieu told police that he was stabbed in the parking lot of Georgetown Presbyterian Church after a basketball game in the church's gym Thursday night.

Police arrested 24-year-old Maliek Gibbs of Georgetown for the stabbing.

Bessellieu said that he was playing basketball at the gym when a man, later identified by police as Gibbs, arrived to pick up another person.
