A Grand Island woman was stabbed 20 times Friday in front of a church. The suspect is her estranged boyfriend.

It took place in the parking lot of St. Mary's Catholic Church around 11:30 Friday morning.

Police say 33-year-old Mirna Medina-Colocho was arguing with her estranged boyfriend. They say 41-year-old Aslin Nabarro then produced a knife and started to stab her in the torso and head up to 20 times.

Police say Nabarro then deeply cut himself in the throat and fled the scene. He collapsed about a block away.
