Guilty Plea In Mt Vernon Church Stabbing

White Plains, NY – The Westchester County District Attorney's office announced that Jonathan Green, 39, of Mount Vernon, New York, pled guilty to the top count of the indictment charging him with Attempted Murder relating to the stabbing of his ex-girlfriend.

On August 3, 2011, at approximately 9:01 pm, the defendant approached his ex-girlfriend as she left choir practice in front of the Greater Centennial Church located at 311 South 8th Avenue in Mount Vernon.

The defendant stabbed the 53-year-old victim multiple times with a kitchen knife, which broke off and remained lodged in the victim’s back.

The victim was taken to Jacobi Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.

The defendant fled the scene.
