STANARDSVILLE — After about 10 hours of deliberation on Thursday, a Greene County jury returned both guilty and not guilty verdicts for a Ruckersville teen accused of setting fire to Ruckersville Baptist Church.

According to the circuit court clerk’s office, the jury found Stephen Fox guilty of arson of an unoccupied church on Aug. 22, injuring cemetery property on Aug. 22, statutory burglary with the intent to commit a felony other than arson on Aug. 22 and two counts of petit larceny on Aug. 9 and Aug. 21.

The Daily Progress had previously not named Fox, who was 17 at the time of the incidents, until the jury returned with guilty verdicts. Fox, who is now 18, was tried as an adult.
