Knife discovered near slain pastor’s church in Anadarko

| September 4, 2009

ANADARKO — A satellite truck operator for an Oklahoma City television station discovered a large knife at a car wash across the street from an Anadarko church where a pastor was viciously slain.

The KOCO-TV employee discovered the knife on Thursday and notified Anadarko police, who confiscated the weapon and took a statement from the operator.

Investigators say they didn’t know whether the knife was connected to the Aug. 23 slaying of 61-year-old Carol Daniels. A preliminary autopsy shows Daniels was stabbed numerous times.

Investigators haven’t said whether they’ve recovered a murder weapon in the case. No arrests have been made, and investigators haven’t released any information on possible suspects.
