Lafayette churches watchful after crime

| May 8, 2011

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Churches often deal with sin, but Lafayette spiritual leaders said even they aren't immune to crime.

The saints peering around St. Lawrence Catholic Church no longer see any signs of sin. It's all been cleared after a break-in to the church and it's parish office that was reported on April 26, 2011. In fact, the silent saints may have been the only witnesses to the crime.

"The lights were all off as they were every morning, so I came in and I noticed a few things were out of place," said Father Andrew DeKeyser of St. Lawrence Church. "Put the lights on and that's when I noticed everything was turned upside down."
