Local synagogue defaced by swastikas

| November 30, 2009

Two swastikas with hate language toward Jews were painted onto property of Temple Emanu-El in southwest Reno.

The swastikas were discovered early Thursday.

One of them was painted on the outside of the building. The other was painted on a small structure outside the synagogue’s entrance. Both swastikas were accompanied by an expletive directed at Jews. In addition, one reference was made to Hitler.

Reno police said they were investigating Thursday. No arrests had been made.
