Maintenance Worker Attacked On The Job

| February 4, 2012

CORPUS CHRISTI – A maintenance worker was attacked by a homeless man at a local church today, putting a nearby school on lockdown.

It happened at Saint Bartholemew's on Airline as the worker was about to fix an air conditioning problem.

Maintenance worker Jason Park told police he was going into an outdoor shed to work on an air conditioner when he believes he scared a homeless man sleeping inside.

The unidentified man cut Jason with an unknown, sharp object, and ran away on foot.

Jason was more shaken up than anything, and his injuries were minor.

His boss, Rector of the Church, Sean Manloney, said, "He is a former prison guard so Jason has a high level of security understanding and he is more angry at himself that he got caught off-guard than anything."

Now, all of this happened while children were in daycare classes just on the other side of the building.
