A man waiting on God to tell him to leave a church will have to get the message in jail.
Bartow County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to a Cassville Road church Sunday afternoon where the pastor told them Boyd Jenkins, 52, of Cartersville was causing a disturbance and refusing to leave. The pastor said other churches had reported the same problem.
A witness said Jenkins entered the church, trying several times to enter the children’s room, which forced church members to lock the door. “Several members attempted to allow him to participate in the service and pray with him, but he began opening and entering the staff offices without permission,” according to the deputy’s report.
Jenkins was asked to leave several times but refused, finally exiting the church and standing beside his truck as members left.
