Man Charged In Arson At Temple, Benedict Canyon Homes

Los Angeles – A 21-year-old man arrested on suspicion of setting a fire in a classroom at a Hollywood synagogue and exclusive homes in Benedict Canyon was charged today with 19 felony counts.

Dmitriy Sheyko pleaded not guilty this afternoon to arson, use of a destructive device and burglary charges.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Upinder S. Kalra ordered Sheyko to remain jailed in lieu of $3 million bail and to return to court May 2 for a hearing to determine if there is enough evidence to require him to stand trial.
