Man stabbed in front of Macomb church

MACOMB, ILL. — A man is in stable condition after being stabbed multiple times outside a Macomb church Sunday.

Macomb Police Chief Curt Barker told KHQA the victim was stabbed four times with a knife, at least once in the neck. The victim was flown to a Peoria Hospital immediately after the incident. Police have not released the name of the victim.

The incident occured around 7:30 a.m. Sunday in front of the First Presbyterian Church of Macomb near the corner of North Dudley and East Carroll streets.

Chief Barker says police arrested a homeless man, Robert Wilson, 36, wanted in connection with the stabbing Sunday morning. Wilson was walking in the 700 block of North Randolph when someone recognized him and called police.
