BEALETON, Va. —  A Bealeton man who got some attention for hitting a burglar over the head with a guitar in Manassas last year now faces arson charges in Fauquier County, authorities said.

Sean Edward Macsorley is accused of entering the construction site of St. Patrick Orthodox Church on Marsh Road in Bealeton and setting the building on fire on July 25, Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Lt. James Hartman said.

According to the church’s website, the St. Patrick facility was near completion when it was burned to the ground.

Authorities charged Macsorley, 29, of Nightingale Lane, with breaking and entering with the intent to commit larceny and burning or causing to burn a building while unlawfully inside such building with the intent to commit a felony, Hartman said.

Macsorley was held without bond and has a court date of Aug. 8.
