Men suspected in thefts from three churches

| September 24, 2011

Investigators on Thursday released video surveillance photographs of men suspected in the theft of credit cards from three churches in League City and Nassau Bay.

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the men, League City police Sgt. John Jordan said in a statement. The thefts occurred in League City this month and in July, and in June at a church in Nassau Bay.

In one case, the suspects entered St. Christopher Episcopal Church, 2508 St. Christopher Road, asking about child care services. The other church in League City was the Church of Christ, 1801 E. Main St.

“While one suspect toured the facility, the other suspect stole credit cards out of the employee’s purse in the office,” Jordan said. “In the other case, credit cards were stolen from a purse located in a vehicle parked in the church parking lot.”
