OSBI Detectives Seek Clues In Minister’s Death

| August 24, 2009

ANADARKO, Okla. — Investigators are seeking answers the day after a minister was killed in her own church.

Police found Rev. Carol Daniels’ body in her Anadarko church at about noon on Sunday. Investigators said it was a homicide, but they cannot say much more.

"We don’t know who did this or why they did this. At this point in time, we are really asking for the public’s help," said Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Jessica Brown.

OSBI investigators are not saying how or when Daniels died — only that she had trauma to her body.

Daniels drove from Oklahoma City to preach at the Worthy Temple Christ Holy Sanctified Church in Anadarko each weekend. Neighbors told Eyewitness News 5 there weren’t many members left at the church, but she showed up even if nobody attended.

Anadarko Rev. Brian Ball said local churches will help remaining church members deal with their grief. He said senseless killing showed that evil always walks among people.

"I think God permits man to show the wickedness of his heart — to prove there is a right, there is a wrong. We don’t understand God’s ways, but when tragedy strikes, it does make us all ask why," Ball said.
