Pastor Holds Congregation Members in Custody

| October 25, 2010

LADDONIA – A laddonia pastor is in police custody this morning after he held members of his congregation hostage last night. Komu has learned the pastor of laddonia christian church, finley price cornered victims in the church's annex building. Witnesses say finley was brandishing a firearm.

A short time later a man was seriously injured… And crews air-lifted him to university hospital. Police documented the man was bleeding from the head, but the extent of his injuries remain unknown.

Andrew Sprock witnessed the incident. "He walked out the door quite a few times, telling the ambulance to come over there because this guy's hurt, and basically the ambulance said 'no, don't do it, because he has a gun.'"

The audrain county sheriff would not confirm there was a shooting and simply referred to the incident as an assault. The crisis ended when a swat team stormed the church's annex and rescued hostages. During our extensive time on the scene overnight… We learned a possible motive for the crime. Several residents told us that attendance at finley's church had declined since he became pastor.
