Pastor William Boss was released from the hospital and returned to Greater Faith Christian Church to share news of his recovery

LAKELAND, Fla. — One week after Pastor William Boss was shot in the head as he kneeled in prayer at Greater Faith Christian Church, he was back inside the sanctuary and even addressed the congregation at Sunday service.

He told them the fact that he was walking, talking, and able to form sentences was nothing short of a miracle.

"This too will pass. Pray for me," he said. "I'm in pain, I'm in agony, but the Lord said He would deliver you in trouble."

Last Sunday morning, the Polk County Sheriff's Office says Jeremiah Fogle shot his wife, Theresa, inside their home before running down the street to the church. Theresa Fogle died. Boss and Associate Pastor Carl Stewart were injured. Stewart is still in the hospital and is currently listed in critical condition.

Pastor Boss sat, smiled, and reflected through much of the service on Sunday with a bandage across the back of his head where he had been shot. His son, who was singing and playing piano at the service, dedicated a song to him.
