Pemberton Township man charged with sexually assaulting a girl during church service

MOUNT HOLLY—A 59-year-old Pemberton Township man was arrested for sexually assaulting a girl during a church service, Burlington County Prosecutor Robert D. Bernardi and Pemberton Township Police Chief David H. Jantas announced. Joseph V. Pullen Jr., 59, of 1 Whispering Pines Boulevard, was arrested on July 13 and charged with first degree aggravated sexual assault and third degree endangering the welfare of a child, county officials said.

According to the prosecutor’s office, the assault occurred during a service at Calvary Baptist Church on July 8. Pullen, who is a deacon at the church, was alone with the victim at the time of the assault, officials said. No information about the victim will be released.
