Petah Tikva police on Tuesday arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of burglarizing three synagogues in the central city.

While in police custody, the suspect reportedly confessed to breaking into the three synagogues and stealing money from the charity boxes. During a search of the suspect's house, police reportedly found what they believe to be a controlled substance.

Police will bring the suspect to a Petah Tikva court on Tuesday, where they will seek an extension of his remand.
