Lancaster city police said today they have made significant progress in an investigation of a stabbing on Saturday that hospitalized a man.

The man was stabbed while waiting in line for a free breakfast at First Reformed Church, 40 E. Orange St., according to police. He was stabbed outside the church.

He went to a local hospital with multiple stab wounds to his throat and chest. Initial reports indicated he was stabbed at least four times.
