Police tighten security measures for Holy Week

THE Davao City Police Office (DCPO) has intensified security measures as Dabawenyos observe the Holy Week.

Senior Superintendent Rene O. Aspera, DCPO chief, said police units have been deployed to set up checkpoints on roads, especially near air and sea ports.

He said police will be augmented by personnel from Task Force Davao (TFD) and Traffic Management Center (TMC) in monitoring and guarding every church, especially at Shrine Hills and San Pedro Cathedral where a lot of devotees are expected to gather for religious rituals.

Uniformed policemen will also be deployed in populated areas like malls and parks.
