| June 19, 2012

GARRETT, Ind. (WANE)–Police in Garrett arrested an intoxicated 18-year-old woman early Saturday morning after they said she broke a large church window, vandalized a postal service vehicle, and smeared blood all over the front doors of the Garrett Post Office.

According to Garrett Police Department, at 4:26 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to loud banging and crashing noises near downtown Garrett. When they got on scene, they said they found Maitlin Craig, 18, covered in blood.

Police say Craig had broken a large window at the Garrett United Methodist Church. Church members found bloody hand marks on three different entryways to the building. The members said they found a rock used to prop the door open covered in blood and think Craig used it to break the outer pane of a large double-paned window. The damage to the window is estimated at $7,000.
