Possible witness wanted for questioning in church arson

| September 8, 2011

WALKER COUNTY, GA. (WRCB)– Walker County Fire Investigators are relentless in their search for a suspected church arsonist and they are looking for a man, who may hold the answers.

In July Garrett's Chapel Baptist in Chickamauga somehow caught fire, causing about $500,000 in damages to two buildings. The man officials need to speak with is not a suspect but may have vital information.

Walker County EMS Director David Ashburn said, "he is not a person of interest as far as the crime, but for information we can use to get that tied down."

Ashburn says take a close look at the sketch. He's 5'-8'' approximately 175 pounds mid 20's to early 30's with a red and green tattoo below his left ear, driving a newer model black Ford F-150.

Officials say he is not a suspect, but he was watching the fire with others, and led one woman to believe he had more info.
