Que. church fire may be arson: Police

| June 11, 2009

AYLMER, Que. — Gatineau, Que., police say the fire that gutted Aylmer's historic St. Paul's Catholic Church Thursday morning may have been deliberately set.

"There is some evidence that it may have been a criminal act," police spokeswoman Isabelle Poirier told reporters Thursday morning.

Poirier said no arrests have been made and that police won't reveal what it is that makes them suspect arson.
