WAYNE TOWNSHIP – Two silver breastplates and a silver pointer used during services were stolen from the Chabad Center earlier this week, police said.

Rabbi Michael I. Gurkow told police that the antique items were taken from a cabinet in the Ratzer Road sanctuary sometime between Sept. 10 and Sept. 12, authorities said.

The pointer used to read the Torah and the breastplates that cover the Torah are valued at between $5,000 and $6,000, police said.
