Second suspect arrested in New Sarpy church fire

The St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office says it has arrested a second suspect in Monday's burning of a New Sarpy Church. Jerry Cotton, 60, of 266 St. Charles St., New Sarpy, turned himself in to authorities Thursday afternoon. He was booked with simple arson and simple burglary of a religious building. Bond had not been set.

Another suspect, Mark A. Bailey, 37, of 212 St. Charles St., turned himself in on Tuesday. He also was booked with simple arson and simple burglary of a religious building, in addition to a fugitive warrant from Jefferson Parish. His bond was set at $150,000.
