Several South Columbus churches vandalized

| April 10, 2014

COLUMBUS, Ga. – Reverend Darrion McCoy arrived to church early Sunday morning and found that a large rock had been thrown through one of the windows at his church.

“Why would they do this to the church?” asks Rev. McCoy. “I just don't understand why they would vandalize the church.”

Twelve Disciples Baptist church was one of six churches hit over the weekend. McCoy says all 6 churches suffered damage from rocks that were thrown through the glass windows or doors, and it’ll cost the churches hundreds of dollars to fix.

Vandals threw a large rock at the front glass door at Reverend Chad Bryant’s church, Mount Pleasant Baptist. There was no message with the vandalism, which makes him think it's a random act or part of gang initiation.
