Sexual assault attempt at eastside church

TUCSON, AZ (KOLD) – Tucson Police arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with an attempted sexual assault on the east side.

On November 15, 2009, officers were called to the 200 block of S. Craycroft, near Broadway Boulevard, regarding a report of a woman who was attacked.

Police say an employee at St. Joseph's Catholic Church was locking up the facility when the suspect approached her.

The victim suffered serious injuries and was treated at a local hospital.

Detectives were able to collect information which led to the identity and location of the suspect.

The 20 year-old suspect was arrested at his home.

He was booked into the Pima County Jail and charged with aggravated assault, attempted sexual assault, kidnapping and robbery.
