Surveillance cameras show Oak Cliff church school burglary

| September 17, 2011

DALLAS — A Dallas parochial school is cleaning up this weekend after thieves ransacked several classrooms.

It is the second major blow for St. Cecilia Catholic School, which is still recovering from a large fire.

Walking the halls brings pain for Estella Castillo. "All of the things we have here is to educate the children," she said.

Overnight, thieves broke into the small Oak Cliff school. Surveillance video shows three teens kicking in the glass doors of eight classrooms and making off with several computers.

"We certainly feel very upset, very angry in this situation," said Rev. Edmundo Peredes. "It's a poor parish, and we're struggling."
